Jet Ski Shrink Wrap
Why It Beats a Cover Every Winter

Moisture, UV, and mice ruin more stored jet skis than winter cold does. A properly fitted shrink wrap shuts all three out — and we come to you to do it.

Every spring we meet jet skis that were "protected" all winter by a loose canvas cover — full of mouse nests, mildew, pooled water, and UV-cracked seats. A properly fitted shrink wrap is a different animal: heat-shrunk plastic sealed tight to the hull that keeps moisture, UV, salt air, and rodents out from November to April. On Long Island, where machines winter outdoors in salt air, it's the single best physical protection you can give a stored PWC.

Shrink Wrap vs. a Regular Cover

  • Sealed, not draped — shrink wrap conforms to the hull, so there's no flapping in nor'easter winds and no gaps for mice and squirrels to move in through.
  • Sheds water and snow — a taut wrap can't pool water the way a sagging cover does, so nothing freezes, stretches, or leaks through.
  • Blocks UV — months of low winter sun still fade seats and crack plastics; wrap takes the hit instead.
  • Ventilated correctly — a professional wrap includes vents so moisture escapes instead of condensing inside. This is the step DIY wraps most often miss, and it's the difference between a dry spring machine and a moldy one.

How Our Mobile Shrink Wrap Works

We come to your driveway, trailer, or lift anywhere on Long Island — typically right after winterizing, so the machine gets buttoned up once and stays that way. The wrap goes on over padded support points, gets heat-shrunk tight, and is fitted with vents. In spring, the wrap comes off and recycles; your ski comes out exactly as it went in.

Short on space? We can also winterize, wrap, and store your ski at our Seaford waterfront facility for the season — one call handles the whole off-season.

When to Wrap on Long Island

Wrap right after your last ride and winterization — for most owners that's late October through early December, before hard freezes and the first nor'easter. Booking winterizing and wrap together is the most common way we do it.

FAQ

Is shrink wrap worth it for a jet ski?

If your ski stores outdoors on Long Island, yes. A fitted, vented wrap prevents the three most common storage problems we see every spring — moisture damage, rodent nests, and UV fading. It costs far less than repairing any one of them.

Can you shrink wrap my jet ski at my house?

Yes — shrink wrapping is a mobile service. We wrap right on your trailer or lift at your home, dock, or storage spot anywhere on Long Island. Or drop the ski at our Seaford facility and we'll winterize, wrap, and store it.

Should I winterize before shrink wrapping?

Always. Wrap protects the outside; winterizing protects the engine, fuel, and cooling system inside. We typically do both in one visit — winterize first, wrap second.
